Marleen Prater, has been decorating her entire life. While her sisters and friends where playing with Barbies she was decorating Barbie's Home.
Prater grew up in rural Missouri, and graduated from the University of Missouri - Rolla. For The past eight years, Prater has lived in Canton, Michigan with her husband, son and two Jack Russells.
When it comes to design, people say..."I create magic...I like to think of it as telling a story about the people that live there." Unlike traditional Interior Designers or Interior Decorators, Prater, likes to take an unconventional approach using what her clients have and then adding to it. She starts with a tour of your home and looks for items that can be repurposed to keep her clients cost at a minimum.
Prater says, "you don't have to have all new in order to have a new room. Sometimes it's just rearranging what you have and adding a few new items."
